The lodge was the original ranch house for the property and, with a few modifications, now serves as the Lodge at Fossil Rim Bed and Breakfast. A cathedral style living room with a massive stone fireplace and walls of glass opens onto a stone veranda overlooking a popular wildlife feeding area. Herds of Arabian oryx and desert addax can often be seen making their daily migration from pasture to pasture and you'll get an up close look at the resident deer and wild turkey. A shaded, natural spring fed swimming hole provides a tranquil daytime retreat for swimming, reading or simply relaxing. The lodge provides rustic luxury while Safari Camp offers an unforgettable getaway in the comfort of a safari-style tent. Both options are set in a secluded area of Fossil Rim's 1600-acre wildlife preserve. You will fall asleep to the sound of howling wolves and awaken with the songbirds. The first facility of its kind to have been accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association, Fossil Rim participates in a worldwide network of wildlife conservation organizations working to restore the delicate balance between people, animals, and the environment. Over 1000 animals, representing 50 species of native and non-native animals live peacefully at the 1500-acre center. 2155 County Road 2008, Glen Rose, TX - From Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport: Depart the airport heading South on International Parkway South for 3.4 miles. Take the ramp toward TX-183 West/Fort Worth/TX-360/Arlington. Take the TX-183 West/TX-360 South ramp toward Fort Worth/Arlington. Merge onto TX-183 West toward Fort Worth and continue for 10.5 miles. TX-183 West becomes TX-121 South, which you will continue to follow for 7.2 miles. Merge onto I-35W South/US-81 South via the exit on the left toward US-377 South/Waco and continue for 14.5 miles. Merge onto TX-174 South via Exit 37 toward Cleburne and continue for 13.2 miles. Turn right. Make a slight right turn onto US-67 West and continue for 29.6 miles. Turn left onto CR- 2008 and continue for 1.1 miles until you reach the property.
