Redbird Retreat is a beautiful private home bed and breakfast nestled on seven acres of woods adjoining a six-acre lake. It is located 10 minutes from Canton's World Famous Trade Days. It is also a fantastic place for business and church staff retreats and other small groups. Two public golf courses, rated among the top ten in Texas, are only a 15-minute drive. Birders will delight in the many varieties of birds that come to the backyard habitat and surrounding woods. Bass, Perch and Catfish abound in the well-stocked private lake. Enjoy peaceful moments of meditation while absorbing some of the best of East Texas' legendary natural beauty. Five unique, gorgeously decorated rooms, each with private bath and entrance, offer an ideal atmosphere for quiet withdrawal. There is a barbeque grill, board games, fax/copy machine, fireplace, library, piano and video selection available for guest use. A full breakfast is served each morning. 10025 FM 1255, Canton, TX - From Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport: Depart airport going south on International Parkway South (portions toll). Merge onto TX-183 East toward Dallas/Irving and continue for 10.9 miles. TX-183 becomes I-35E South/US-77 South, which you will follow for 5 miles. Merge onto I-30 East via EXIT 428A on the left toward Texarkana and go for 8 miles. Merge onto US-80 East via EXIT 52C toward Terrell and continue for 19.1 miles. Take TX-557 Spur East toward I-20 East/Shreveport. Merge onto I-20 East toward Shreveport and continue for more than 28 miles. Take EXIT 530 and then go left over the freeway and continue for 5.2 miles. The retreat is not visible from the road so watch for the small sign and the address on the mailbox.
